Throwback to 2018 - this is me, hand finishing my wedding invitations, and I had just started a new job as an in-house designer for a private company. I then took the plunge to formally register Aniris Design.
It took a long time to find the confidence to register Aniris Design as a Limited Company. If I formally acknowledged my desire to make a passive income through freelancing, that meant people would know about it. And that would mean publicly failing if it didn't happen. I'm so glad I did it because really, once I registered the company, nothing changed. I thought it would create this massive pressure to suddenly risk everything for this business. But instead it allowed me the umbrella to build the business little by little.
It's strange to look back as I'm always focused ahead, to my goals. Looking back at old photos reminds me how far I've come. If you told the old me that today I would be a mum to a beautiful little boy, in the middle of a global pandemic (?!) and running a Etsy shop with actual products that people actually BUY, I'm not sure which part would have been harder to believe. I'm the queen of ideas, big dreams and concepts, not nearly as good at actually following through. But this is me following through! I'm proud of how far I've come and I'm so excited for what's ahead.
I have plans for the rest of the year. Since the start of 2020, I've started email marketing, I've launched my new website, as well as applying my new Social Media Strategy.
So for the rest of the year, I believe I need to outline my goals in order to manifest them.
By the end of 2020 I WILL have:
Grown my email marketing lists (to reach 100 contacts) by sending out monthly emails - you can recieve 10% off your first order if you join my email list!
developed new products to reach my goal of 100 listings for my shop and therefore grow my reach within Etsy
Increase followers on social media - Instagram specifically - to reach 1000
Increase number of sales through Etsy, to reach 100
It will be interesting to look back at the start of 2021 to see how I achieved those goals. How do you achieve your personal goals? I'd love to know how you keep yourself accountable. Let me know!
